This is the place to learn about, discuss and submit applications for the Seamless Community Grants Program (SCGP). This grants program is currently undergoing a pilot test with real grant awards. See below for an overview of the program:

Background:

The Seamless Community Grants Program (SCGP) was passed on Jan 27, 2024, 1:56 PM, creating the inaugural pilot program for awarding grants to kickstart growth and expansion of the Seamless ecosystem.

On Feb 2, 2024, 10:56 PM, the first election of council members was completed, resulting in the election of a 5-person council to oversee the SCGP.

How to Apply for a SCGP Grant:

  1. To begin an application, select “New Topic” in this SCGP Discourse category.
  2. Begin your post with the title: “SCGP APPLICATION: [your own title]”
  3. Complete the auto-generated Application Form Template, and press submit.
  4. If the SCGP council requires more information or clarification about your application, they will either contact you directly or reply to your application thread on Discourse.
  5. At a rolling basis, a member of the SCGP council will post the results of any ACCEPTED grant applications in the #scgp-grants channel on Discord.
  6. With the permission of the accepted grantees, a public announcement will be made on Twitter about the awarded grant and grantee project. Grantees may also be invited to Seamless Community Office Hours and other events to inform the community about their plans.
  7. In accordance with the funding milestones, grants will be rewarded over time based on the completion of the intended project.

Disclaimer:

In the event of misconduct, deception, non-compliance or any unethical behavior by the grantee, the SCGP Council reserves the right to void the granted funds at its sole discretion.

Hello everyone! “I am pleased to inform you that the SCGP Council has decided to broaden the list of acceptable Project Sector/Type categories for grant submissions. The newly added categories include “Content”, “Ecosystem Support”, and “Farcaster Frames”.”

The above mentioned categories will be added to the default template.

As it was foreseen by the original proposal, the SGCP’s budget was increased to $200k by the following Snapshot vote

I’m curious about efforts to integrate crypto into smaller towns and communities I live in Brownwood Texas and I am astounded by the majority of people here don’t even know what a cryptocoin is or how to use it or access it at all. What can I do to be more equipped to broadening people’s understanding of crypto in general?? And how do I go about being funded or added to make that happen in my community I’ve got some ideas but no backing yet.
